Hi. I’m Charise.

I’m a mom, writer, and robotics engineer. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2017. It was devastating.

About Me

I was a robotics engineer for fifteen years before becoming a writer. In 2017 I experienced my first manic episode at age 40. I was hospitalized and diagnosed with bipolar 1 mood disorder. Over the following three years I wrote a memoir about my experiences with my family, the mental health care system, and society. Learn more about my book Crazy: Memoir of a Mom Gone Mad here.
